Welcome to the web site of the California Cotton Ginners Association and
the California Cotton Growers Association. These two cotton industry
organizations represent their members in the legal, legislative and
regulatory affairs of their respective businesses. Both Associations are
non-profit trade Associations and are supported by an annual voluntary
dues assessment per bale produced (Growers) and per bale ginned
(Ginners). Dues for 2007, based on the 2006 crop, are 25¢ per bale
produced and 25¢ per bale ginned. The Ginners Association’s
membership includes all of the 34 ginning firms currently doing business
in California. These 34 organizations will operate 61 cotton gins during
the 2006 season. The membership of the Growers Association currently
produces 100% of the total cotton produced in California. The total
number of cotton growers is estimated to be approximately 1000
statewide.
The purpose of this website is to furnish our members and other
interested parties, with an overview of the structure and activities of
these organizations, as well as a continually updated review of the
issues currently being addressed by the Associations.
