Roger A. Isom, PRESIDENT/CEO

Roger brings over 25 years of environmental and safety experience to WAPA. Since 1992, Roger has worked for the California Cotton Ginners and Growers Associations and for WAPA since its inception in 2009. His responsibilities include the management of the Association’s staff and day-to-day operations. Roger also oversees the major issues including environmental, safety, pesticide, energy, food safety, labor, and transportation issues, while managing the consulting services side of the organization as well. He coordinates regulatory and legislative review and compliance programs for membership and works with local, state and federal agencies on these issues. Roger also performs environmental and safety audits of cotton gins, tree nut hullers and processors, as well as farming operations, including air pollution permits, and safety and food safety programs. Roger has extensive safety and food safety training and is a Certified Lead Trainer by the Produce Safety Alliance. Prior to 1992, Roger worked for the Fresno County/San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District as a lead engineer in permitting, as well as managing the District’s air toxics and criteria pollutants emission inventory programs. Roger graduated in 1988 with a degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Fresno. He is a Registered Environmental Assessor in the State of California, and has an EIT Certificate from the State of California. Roger is also a member of the Air and Waste Management Association, American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, and the National Fire Protection Association.
